IUS Report on Evictions Prevention Workshop | May 17, 2012

On November 10th, 2011, the Institute of Urban Studies conducted a workshop on Managing for Successful Tenancies. The goal of this workshop was to develop an eviction prevention strategy for the Mental Health Commission of Canada’s At Home / Chez Soi Winnipeg Site. The objective was to bring together project staff and others who have experience in housing a range of individuals and learning from their experience about what it takes to successfully keep participants of At Home/ Chez Soi housed. Sixty-five people from 29 organizations participated. The Institute of Urban Studies facilitated the workshop with assistance of Masters City Planning students from the University of Manitoba.

The resulting report, “Preventing Evictions and Managing for Successful Tenancies” is now publicly available for download from the Institute of Urban Studies “community” on the University of Winnipeg’s WinnSpace digital respository.
